Athletes – please note the first tryout is next Tuesday May 29, 6:00 pm in Cobourg.

This summer the Ontario Summer Games are being hosted in Toronto, August 16 to 19, 2012. We are excited about the opportunity of sending athletes to represent our region ot this event. We will be hosting tryouts on May 29 and May 31 at 6:00pm , in Cobourg at Victoria beach. In order to be eligible female athletes must be born in 1996 or earlier. Male athletes must be born in 1996 or earlier. You do not need to have a partner as the regional selection team will be selecting athletes and creating partnerships based on performance. There will be a $15.00 tryout fee that will be paid.

If you are selected, you will be expected to practice twice a week for 11 weeks in Cobourg. You will also be expected to participate in a number of OVA Beach tourneys as part of your training. The cost to you for the training will be $150.00. The Ontario Summer Games registration will be approximately $225.00 and there will also be an additional clothing cost for Region Four accessories.

Region Four Coaches are also needed for this event. We require two head coaches, for both the male and female teams, and two assistant coaches accordingly . It is mandatory that a female coach be selected to work with the female athletes. This coach can be either the head coach or the assistant coach. Training sessions are twice weekly with participation at some of the OVA summer beach competitions recommended. Honorariums will be given by the OVA for your time. If you are interested in working in this program please contact Curtis Gilfillan by May 22 at curtis.gilfillan@hotmail.com.
